What a clean Debt Ceiling Bill looks like -

This is what a clean Debt Ceiling bill should look like.  This example would increase the debt ceiling by $4.2B

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That subsection (b) of section 3101 of title 31, United States Code, is amended by striking out the dollar limitation contained in such subsection and inserting in lieu thereof 16,694,000,000,000.

This mimics the Debt Ceiling bills passed in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006,and 2007 under George W. Bush.
Republicans voted "Aye" more than 200 times in support of these 5 debt ceiling bills.
These five bills increased the Debt Ceiling by $3.865B.

And now we are at the brink of default because we MUST CUT SPENDING?

Really?

Why Now?

  • No spending cuts required.
  • No increased taxes required.
  • No threat of default.
So why is this time such a fight?     Oh yeah.

Because the goal is the Whitehouse, not governing...
